When he was serving in Saudi Arabia, he had the opportunity of introducing the Surgical Residency Program. This showed that apart from the work he was doing as a medical practitioner, he was also interested in other operations within the medical industry. The Surgical Residency Program enabled students from Saudi Arabia to receive accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons in England right in Saud Arabia. This initiative boosted the number of medical professionals in the country. Many students got an opportunity to get surgical training right at home instead of moving abroad.
When Dr. Saad Saad got an opportunity to work in Riyadh, he moved with his family as he would serve for four and a half years. Saad is has been married for 42 years and has four children. His children have followed in the footstep of the father. Two are surgeons, one a lawyer and the other an ICU nurse. While he was serving in Saudi Arabia, they were young. So, when he took up the job, he knew very well that it would have a big impact on his family.
Dr. Saad Saad was not supposed to stay in Riyadh for a long time, but since his family was too young, he decided to stick around for some time so that his children would not experience different environments in a short time. He ended up spending four and a half years instead of the one year he was supposed to serve.
